Getting Started & What to Expect

Campers will receive their group assignments and login information by December 20, 2024. This will include detailed information on what to download and Zoom links. Prior to Monday, December 30 please make sure to check the computer and software requirements, internet connection, and sound hookups. All programs require the internet and specific websites that are free source or trial software (Note: free trial software are only for seven days, so don’t do it too early).

Each day of camp aggregates, building on the previous day’s lessons and skills, culminating on the last day where parents can join in on the fun and see the amazing work their child has done!

Sample Schedule (subject to change):

  • Day 1. The first day is an opportunity to review and gauge understanding, it’s also a fun chance for us to get to know y’all and each other. We will have ice breakers, sample projects to review and analyze, an understanding of the room code and expectations, as well as a more detailed overview of what is to come throughout the week. The first day is also a chance to fix troubleshooting issues.

  • Day 2. The second day is an opportunity to really sink your teeth into the course. With instructional workshops, the actual lesson and approach will vary slightly depending on the option you chose but generally the second day is spent learning many of the core skills and fundamentals needed to build out the larger projects meant for the end of the week.

  • Day 3 & 4. The third and fourth days will compound on the lessons from Day Two. Day Three will still focus heavily on more lesson-based work with smaller projects and exercises used to aide in the learning process. Day Four is split, with time spent to learn and review what was learned from the previous days but also a time to start or choose a final project. Students are given the opportunity to create a pre-planned final project that will include what they’ve learned in the previous days with the flexibility to add to it post camp. For classes with one large project that spans the entire week, it is a continuation of days two and three. The third option is an opportunity for students to make their own smaller project that combines what they’ve learned. They will have time to brainstorm and start a project before the final day.

  • Day 5. This is where everything comes together! Day Five is where students will wrap up work on their projects. Parents are invited to “dial in” towards the end of the session to join in the fun. They will get a chance to see all the hard work their child has done and get an overview of topics covered in that week.
